Questions
& Answers.

01

How does client-side processing work?

Interleaf uses pdf-lib and pdf.js — JavaScript libraries that run entirely in your browser. When you upload a PDF, it's read into your browser's memory and processed locally. No data is sent to any server.

02

Is my data private?

Yes. Your files never leave your device. There are no uploads, no server-side processing, and no data collection of any kind. You can verify this by inspecting the network tab in your browser's developer tools.

03

Which browsers are supported?

Interleaf works in all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend using the latest version for the best experience.

04

Is there a file size limit?

There is no hard file size limit. However, since processing happens in your browser, very large files (100+ MB) may be slower depending on your device's available memory and processing power.

05

Is Interleaf free to use?

Yes. Interleaf is completely free and open source. There are no premium tiers, no subscriptions, and no hidden costs.

06

Can I contribute to the project?

Absolutely. Interleaf is open source and hosted on GitHub. You can report issues, suggest features, or submit pull requests.

07

Does Interleaf work offline?

Once the page is loaded, most operations work without an internet connection. However, you need to be online to initially load the application.

08

What PDF operations are supported?

Interleaf supports merge, extract, reorder, rotate, delete, and unlock operations. All operations are performed client-side.
